Life is literally a beach for the founders of Mikoh: Oleema and Kalani Miller. The two sisters were raised on the shores of Hawaii and they know a thing or two about swimwear that can handle the surf.
Founded in 2015 by Jannine Vinci and Isabella Cavalli, Oséree is an Italian swimwear brand getting its name from the verb “Ose” in French, meaning “to dare.” Therefore, it’s no surprise that sparkly maillots and two pieces are the brand’s signature. Their fringy beaded styles are most definitely for those whose vibe skews “extra”.
Talie Gold products is also made of pre-consumer waste Econyl fabric, with the aim of making swimwear more sustainable. Based in Los Angeles, California (made in Bali, though), the brand is an exercise in slow fashion. Its design is far from a crunchy granola aesthetic, with styles made more for Kangol hats and SoCal pool parties.
You may recognize Hunza G for the iconic cutout mini dress worn by Julia Roberts in the movie Pretty Women, but the London-based fashion brand is also trying to be famous for their bathing suits, too. Relaunched under Georgiana Huddar, the super-stretchy, ultra-flattering styles look good on literally everyone. That’s kind of the point since its one-size-fits-all swimsuits are intended to suit a range of bodies from small to extra-large.
Solid & Striped
Although single-handedly resurrected the basic one-piece in 2014, Solid & Striped have come a long, fashionable way. Their suits always have a touch of 1970s nostalgia without being frumpy. They have recently released a leopard-print suit complete with a gold belt.
In terms of printed dresses, Rixo is at the top of their game. Their animal prints, florals, and polka dots, are everything you want to wear for summer time. The same goes for their swimwear. It is exactly what you expect from the British label, complete with punchy 1980s graphics and ruffles galore.
