3. USE GEL TEARS OR EYE DROPS

Are you not fond of goggles? Then, consider relying on over-the-counter eye drops. Use them before and after swimming. It will enable the tear film to stay balanced and the eyes to get more comfortable. Not all, you can use gel tears. They are great for those suffering from dry eye. They are generally artificial tears’ thicker version. They can help as well when wearing goggles to ensure that your eyes remain moist and are protected at the same time. Check with your ophthalmologist and ask if they have suggestions or if you had better account for using prescription eye drops.

4. DRINK A LOT OF WATER

It may sound like second nature, yet a lot of the time, as you are swimming, you do not figure out that you are falling behind on your intake of water. Keeping hydrated is useful for keeping the eyes moist and comfortable. It also helps with tear production.

5. DO NOT BRING THE CONTACT LENSES ALONG 

Note that soft lenses are not for being in the water as it causes them to shrink. Since they shrink, they are highly likely to tighten around the cornea. You should know that it can not just be uncomfortable but may cause damage to your eye. Not all, the germs in the water may get trapped between your eye and contact lens and cause infection.
